Ride-hailing apps work for the trip back to the airport but are unreliable for arrivals, so do not plan a pickup around one.

How the light works at Villa Alma
The estate fronts the Caribbean on the east-facing Quintana Roo coast, so the sun rises over the water and sets behind the property and the jungle rather than out to sea. In practice the beach and the pool terrace drop into open shade through the late afternoon while the sky over the water stays bright, which is flattering for vows and keeps nobody squinting into the sun. On this coast the safe move is to begin the ceremony about ninety minutes before official sunset, because twilight arrives quickly once the sun clears the tree line and the light goes fast. Instead of a sun-into-the-ocean silhouette you get the pastel gradient the Caribbean is known for, with the shallow turquoise water still glowing through blue hour.
The best time to start your ceremony
Arch's own rule for this coast is to begin the ceremony about 90 minutes before sunset, which leaves the vows in soft light and still keeps time for portraits afterwards. Start times are rounded down to the half hour. Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo. UTC-5 all year: the state left daylight saving in 2015. Times are town level, so they run within a couple of minutes of the property.
