Every point is drawn from the venue's own published terms and documented weddings. None of it makes this a bad venue.

- You are pricing your photographer from what you have read.The resort's 2023/2024 wedding guide prices the outside vendor fee for photography at USD 150, but that document was last updated in June 2023, so the current figure has to come from the coordinator in writing.
- Some of your guests are staying off property.They need a day pass, priced in that same 2023/2024 guide at USD 100 to arrive shortly before the ceremony or USD 180 for the full day.
- You want the legal marriage done here rather than at home.The entry-level packages include a symbolic ceremony rather than a legal one, and marrying legally in Mexico adds a judge, translation, an apostille, a blood test and witnesses, each carrying its own fee.

- Ignore anyone offering a ride between the arrivals door and the curb, however official they look. Only pre-arranged and federally authorized transport may pick up at the terminal, and the walk-up offers are where the overcharge stories come from. Ride-hailing apps work for the trip back to the airport but are unreliable for arrivals, so do not plan a pickup around one.

- Reserve a private transfer in advance: the driver meets you with a name sign, at a fixed price agreed up front, and tracks your flight if it runs late. How the light works at Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort
The beach here faces east onto the Caribbean, so the sun rises out of the water and sets behind the resort rather than over the sea. By late afternoon the buildings and palms throw the sand into open shade, which means nobody squints through the vows and skin tones stay even, while the sky over the water turns a soft gradient of pink and blue. The trade is that the light drops quickly once the sun falls behind the property, so couple portraits need to be efficient rather than leisurely. Sunset lands around 6:05 pm in early December and closer to 7:20 pm in mid August, which moves the right ceremony start time by well over an hour across the year.
The best time to start your ceremony
Arch's own rule for this coast is to begin the ceremony about 90 minutes before sunset, which leaves the vows in soft light and still keeps time for portraits afterwards. Start times are rounded down to the half hour. Playa Mujeres, Quintana Roo. UTC-5 all year: the state left daylight saving in 2015. Times are town level, so they run within a couple of minutes of the property.
