When another venue fits better
Every point below comes from the venue's own published terms and from documented weddings. None of it makes this a bad venue. It makes it the wrong one for some couples, and better to know now.
- You want a quiet, adults-only weekend.This is a family resort built around one of the largest water parks in the Caribbean, with lazy rivers, bowling and laser tag. Expect a busy, loud, kid-heavy property.
- You want the best light on the property.The Sky Terrace is not included in the standard packages. It carries a separate ceremony package quoted at USD 1,500, which sits on top of whichever tier you choose.
- You want the coordinator's full attention on your day.The resort books as many as two weddings a day, so ceremony slots, photo locations and coordinator attention are shared. The ceremony slot has to be locked early rather than left flexible.
- You have guests who want to book their own hotel.Wedding packages require 75 percent of your group to stay at the resort, and they are sold only to couples staying on property, which constrains guests who want to book elsewhere.

- Drive southAbout a twenty minute drive south from Cancun International Airport.
- Build the room block firstPackages require 75 percent of your group to stay at the resort and are sold only to couples staying on property, so the block has to come before anything else.
- At the airportIgnore anyone offering a ride between the arrivals door and the curb, however official they look. Only pre-arranged and federally authorized transport may pick up at the terminal, and the walk-up offers are where the overcharge stories come from. Ride-hailing apps work for the trip back to the airport but are unreliable for arrivals, so do not plan a pickup around one.
- Book the drive before you flyReserve a private transfer in advance: the driver meets you with a name sign, at a fixed price agreed up front, and tracks your flight if it runs late. - The suitesFor both partiesBoth parties in our 2026 weddings here dressed in the resort's own suites: bright modern rooms with a floor-to-ceiling glass wall to a private terrace. Sheer curtains turn that glass wall into soft, full-height window light all morning, the best light in the building for hair, makeup and detail shots. A separate seating area for the wedding party, space to hang the dress against the suite's feature wall, and room service while everyone gets ready.

From behind the camera
How the light works here
This whole coastline faces east, which shapes everything about how the day is photographed. The sun rises straight out of the water in front of the resort and sets inland behind the buildings, so a sunrise portrait session on this beach is spectacular and almost private, while there is no over-water sunset to build a ceremony around. A late-afternoon ceremony on the sand sits in soft, even light with the sun behind the property rather than in anyone's eyes. The Sky Terrace and the Grazie terrace both sit above the tree line and hold the last warm light noticeably longer than the beach does, which makes them the strongest choice for a late ceremony or for portraits immediately afterwards. When the beach is not cooperating, the terraces and the resort's architecture give you a completely different set of frames without leaving the property.
The best time to start your ceremony
Arch's own rule for this coast is to begin the ceremony about 90 minutes before sunset, which leaves the vows in soft light and still keeps time for portraits. Start times are rounded to the half hour for these coordinates. Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo. UTC-5 all year: the state left daylight saving in 2015. Times are town level, so they run within a couple of minutes of the property.

- Grazie Ocean View TerraceEast, panoramic sea views, above the tree lineThe dry-feet alternative to the sand and, like the Sky Terrace, it keeps the last warm light after the beach has lost it. When the beach is not cooperating, the terraces and the resort's architecture give you a different set of frames without leaving the property.
- Grand Cenote BallroomCovered, indoorWhere the day goes if weather closes the outdoor spaces. No daylight to work with, which is consistent with the rest of the property after dark: the grounds are lit for the pools and the water park, not for photographs, so evening coverage is deliberate flash work.
