Ride-hailing apps work for the trip back to the airport but are unreliable for arrivals, so do not plan a pickup around one.

How the light works at Nu Tulum
This stretch of coast faces east, so the sun rises over the Caribbean and sets behind the jungle. A venue set back in the jungle canopy, as NÜ is, falls into open shade well before the official sunset time, which means soft, even light and no squinting into a low sun during vows. The venue names its rooftop as the sunset spot, and it is the one place on the property that sits above the tree line. A useful rule for the Riviera Maya is to start the ceremony around ninety minutes before sunset, because once the sun drops behind the jungle horizon the light goes quickly and portrait time disappears with it. After dark the property reads as candlelight and ambient string lighting under the palms, so evening coverage is a low-light, warm-toned affair rather than a bright one.
The best time to start your ceremony
Arch's own rule for this coast is to begin the ceremony about 90 minutes before sunset, which leaves the vows in soft light and still keeps time for portraits afterwards. Start times are rounded down to the half hour. Tulum, Quintana Roo. UTC-5 all year: the state left daylight saving in 2015. Times are town level, so they run within a couple of minutes of the property.
