How the light works at Kuha Casa del Agua
This is an inland jungle property, not a beach site, so plan for filtered, dappled canopy light rather than an open ocean horizon, and expect no sea-level sunset to shoot into. The best sourced portrait anchors are the natural cenote with its waterfall, the wooden bridge crossing it, the carved temple doors and stone doorways, and the jungle paths the venue itself offers as a ceremony option. Shade under the canopy holds far longer than it does on open sand, so the usable window for soft portraits is generous but sits lower in contrast, and open patches of esplanade will run hot and bright in the middle of the day. The air-conditioned salon is the covered fallback for both ceremony and dinner when the weather turns. Events run to a 1:00 am cut-off, so a large share of the night is shot entirely on installed lighting, and the venue lists lighting and audio among the services it provides.
The best time to start your ceremony
Arch's own rule for this coast is to begin the ceremony about 90 minutes before sunset, which leaves the vows in soft light and still keeps time for portraits afterwards.
