Arrival, and where you get ready

- South from the airport on Highway 307. No transfer is included; the park arranges private transport, and ADO buses and colectivo vans stop at its entrance. No drive time is published, so ask the park for one.
- 6.3Arriving at
- Puerto Aventuras on the Riviera Maya. This is an eco park, not a hotel, so nobody sleeps at the address.
- 6.4Tell guests
- Everyone travels in and out on the day from Puerto Aventuras or Playa del Carmen. Book the return journey rather than improvising it after dark.
- 6.5At the airport
- Ignore anyone offering a ride between the arrivals door and the curb, however official they look. Only pre-arranged and federally authorized transport may pick up at the terminal, and the walk-up offers are where the overcharge stories come from. Ride-hailing apps work for the trip back to the airport but are unreliable for arrivals, so do not plan a pickup around one.

How the light works at Kantun Chi
The park does not publish compass orientations for its ceremony sites, so treat this as canopy light rather than horizon light. It describes its cenotes as open and semi open pools that always carry sunlight, and the jungle gives enough shade that sunscreen is banned partly on the grounds that you will be under the trees. The practical effect is that the strongest light of the day is the shaft falling through the cenote opening rather than a low sun across water, and there is no ocean horizon to place a sunset against. The underground river is a different problem: 300 metres of cave from entrance to exit lit by the park's own system, so plan on artificial light there. The park operates 9am to 5pm and its events team lists a night version of the private Zihil-Ha cenote, so anything after dark is a lit build rather than available light, and the connecting paths are jungle trail.
The best time to start your ceremony
Arch's own rule for this coast is to begin the ceremony about 90 minutes before sunset, which leaves the vows in soft light and still keeps time for portraits afterwards. Start times are rounded down to the half hour. Riviera Maya, Quintana Roo. UTC-5 all year: the state left daylight saving in 2015. Times are town level, so they run within a couple of minutes of the property.
