- Sahara Beach The main beach venue, wide enough for a large ceremony with open Caribbean directly behind you.
- Sky Terrace An elevated terrace with panoramic views over the resort and the hotel zone, and the natural fallback when wind or seaweed rules out the sand.
- Five Elements Ballroom The indoor option and the largest space on property, climate controlled with full audiovisual support.
- Reef Terrace A small seaside terrace built for intimate ceremonies of up to 40 guests, with cocktails afterwards for up to 49.
Reception
- Rooftop Terrace The premium reception location written into the Zama package, an elevated deck with panoramic ocean and resort views.
- Sky Terrace Doubles as a reception space for up to 200 when the ceremony happens at one of the gazebos, and catches golden hour light from the west.

The honest case against
When another venue fits better
Every point below comes from the venue's own published terms and from documented weddings. None of it makes this a bad venue. It makes it the wrong one for some couples, and better to know now.
- You want the photography line settled before you sign.The resort permits outside photographers and charges a vendor fee per service, but no current amount is published anywhere in the research. The figure has to come from your coordinator in writing, and it belongs in the budget before you sign.
- You want to choose your own ceremony slot on your own date.The resort hosts a maximum of two weddings a day, so your ceremony slot comes from a short list rather than being freely chosen, and prime dates are taken 12 to 18 months out.
- You want the reception to run late where it started.Amplified music has hard cut-offs by space: 10pm at the gazebos and terraces, 11pm on Sahara Beach, and midnight only inside the Five Elements Ballroom. A late party means booking the ballroom.
- You want a weekend date.Package prices move with the day of the week. A Friday to Sunday date runs about a thousand dollars more than the identical wedding Monday to Thursday: the Zama package is USD 18,112 Monday to Thursday against USD 19,147 Friday to Sunday in 2026.
- You are building the guest list from a capacity you read online.Published capacities differ sharply between third party sites, with Sahara Beach quoted anywhere from 250 to 500 guests. The number has to be confirmed against the resort's own floor plan before the invitations go out.
- You want the marriage to be legal in Mexico.Every package defaults to a symbolic ceremony, so most couples handle the legal marriage at home. A legal wedding here is possible but adds paperwork, blood work and processing fees.

- At the airportIgnore anyone offering a ride between the arrivals door and the curb, however official they look. Only pre-arranged and federally authorized transport may pick up at the terminal, and the walk-up offers are where the overcharge stories come from. Ride-hailing apps work for the trip back to the airport but are unreliable for arrivals, so do not plan a pickup around one.

How the light works here
The resort sits at the tip of the Punta Cancun peninsula with water on three sides, so the Cliff Gazebo and the Lighthouse Gazebo open onto Caribbean horizon with no buildings cutting into the frame. That open sky is both the gift and the problem: the light is clean and the water acts as a natural reflector, but midday sun here is punishing, and a late afternoon ceremony photographs far better than a noon one. The elevated spaces, Sky Terrace and the Rooftop Terrace, take golden hour light from the west, which makes them the strongest choice for cocktail hour while the gazebo and the lighthouse hold the last warm light for portraits. A reliable rule on this property is to have the ceremony end at least ninety minutes before sunset so portraits are unhurried.
The best time to start your ceremony
Arch's own rule for this coast is to begin the ceremony about 90 minutes before sunset, which leaves the vows in soft light and still keeps time for portraits. Start times are rounded to the half hour for these coordinates. Cancun hotel zone, Quintana Roo. UTC-5 all year: the state left daylight saving in 2015. Times are town level, so they run within a couple of minutes of the property.
