Haven Riviera Cancun is an adults-only, all-suite all-inclusive on a quiet stretch of Puerto Morelos coastline about twenty minutes south of Cancun airport. It books only one wedding a day.

When another venue fits better
Every point is drawn from the venue's own published terms and documented weddings. None of it makes this a bad venue.
- You are bringing one team for photography and video.The $800 vendor fee is charged per service, so a single crew shooting both can be counted twice. How the resort will count your coverage needs to be in writing before you sign anything.
- Some of your people want to stay somewhere else.At least 80 percent of the wedding group must stay at the resort, and every guest attending from off property is charged an extra $150.
- You want the party outdoors and long.Private functions held outdoors must finish by 11pm, and any event running past that is charged $50 per staff member per hour.
- You want the marriage to be legal here, and in English.A legal ceremony needs the couple on property three business days ahead, includes a blood test taken at the resort, and is conducted in Spanish unless you add an English-speaking judge for $55.
- Your reception is outdoors and after dark.Outdoor spaces need added lighting after dark and the resort states lighting is not included in every package, so what is actually being hung has to be settled before you build an evening around a garden or deck.
- There is any chance your date still moves.A $500 deposit holds the date and is non-refundable, final payment falls due 45 days before the ceremony, and cancelling inside three months forfeits everything already paid.

- 6.5At the airport
- Ignore anyone offering a ride between the arrivals door and the curb, however official they look. Only pre-arranged and federally authorized transport may pick up at the terminal, and the walk-up offers are where the overcharge stories come from. Ride-hailing apps work for the trip back to the airport but are unreliable for arrivals, so do not plan a pickup around one.
- 6.6Book the drive before you fly

How the light works at Haven Riviera Cancun
The property sits on an east-facing stretch of Caribbean coast, so the beach and the oceanfront decks take clean morning light and fall into open shade well before the afternoon is over. That makes a late-afternoon beach or garden ceremony comfortable, with the sun behind the resort rather than in your guests' eyes, and it makes sunrise the strongest window for portraits over the water. The resort's own description of the Sunset Terrace, a rooftop it markets for ocean, jungle and sunset views from a single spot, tells you where the last warm light actually lands: above the tree line on the inland side of the property, not on the sand. If a sunset frame matters to you, put cocktails or the opening of the reception up there rather than chasing it at the shoreline.
The best time to start your ceremony
Arch's own rule for this coast is to begin the ceremony about 90 minutes before sunset, which leaves the vows in soft light and still keeps time for portraits afterwards. Start times are rounded down to the half hour. Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo. UTC-5 all year: the state left daylight saving in 2015. Times are town level, so they run within a couple of minutes of the property.
