Catholic Chapel (Nuestra Senora del Rocio) An on site Catholic chapel used for religious ceremonies, holding around 100 guests.
Poseidon Glassroom An enclosed, air conditioned room walled in glass, used for ceremonies of up to about 200 guests when a couple wants an indoor setting that still reads bright.
White Terrace A compact terrace for ceremonies and small receptions, capped at roughly 80 seated guests, with events permitted until 1:00 am.

How the light works here

This is an east facing Caribbean beach, so the sun rises out of the water and sets behind the resort and the mangroves rather than over the sea. In practice that is a gift for a ceremony: by late afternoon the beach falls into open shade while the sky above the water stays bright, so nobody squints through their vows and skin tones stay even. A ceremony start about 90 minutes before official sunset is the usual target, which leaves room for family groups and couple portraits while the light is still soft. Expect a pastel, cotton candy sky over the water instead of a sun dipping into the sea, and expect the light to fall away quickly once it goes, so the portrait window after the ceremony is short and needs to be planned rather than improvised.

The best time to start your ceremony

Arch's own rule for this coast is to begin the ceremony about 90 minutes before sunset, which leaves the vows in soft light and still keeps time for portraits. Start times are rounded to the half hour for these coordinates. Costa Mujeres, Quintana Roo. UTC-5 all year: the state left daylight saving in 2015. Times are town level, so they run within a couple of minutes of the property.
