Only pre-arranged and federally authorized transport may pick up at the terminal, and the walk-up offers are where the overcharge stories come from. Ride-hailing apps work for the trip back to the airport but are unreliable for arrivals, so do not plan a pickup around one.

How the light works at Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres

The beach faces the Caribbean toward Isla Mujeres, which means the sun rises over the water and sets behind the property rather than into the sea. In practice the last hour of daylight throws warm reflected light along the sand instead of a sun-on-the-horizon backdrop, so a ceremony that starts about two hours before sunset puts the vows, the family groups and the couple portraits inside that window. Sunset moves by close to ninety minutes across the year here, so the start time has to be set to the season rather than to a default hour. The Oasis Gazebo sits back in the gardens and holds shade longer, while the Seaside Gazebo and the beach are open to the sky and to the wind. After dark the terraces and the ballroom carry the evening, and because the property opened in 2025 the surfaces are bright and clean under lighting.

The best time to start your ceremony

Arch's own rule for this coast is to begin the ceremony about 90 minutes before sunset, which leaves the vows in soft light and still keeps time for portraits afterwards.
