When another venue fits better

Every point below comes from the venue's own published terms and from documented weddings. None of it makes this a bad venue. It makes it the wrong one for some couples, and better to know now.

You are selling your guests on Tulum.The resort sits north of Tulum town on the highway, about 90 minutes from Cancun airport, so guests picturing the boho beach club strip will be taking a drive to reach it.
You want the rooftop or the beach palapa.The two most photogenic premium spaces sit outside every wedding package and are charged as rentals plus 16% tax and 15% setup. The resort's 2024 wedding guide prices the Sunset Rooftop at USD 500 for a ceremony and USD 1,000 for a reception, and the Tulum Beach Palapa at USD 800 and USD 2,500. That guide is the most recent one in the research, so treat the figures as a 2024 baseline and get current ones in writing.
You want the party outdoors and late.Outdoor events on the beach and pool terraces have to finish by 11pm. Only the garden venues can be extended toward 3am, and that extension carries an additional fee.
You want a rain plan you can rely on.A rain call on a ceremony is made about three hours out and a reception move about five hours out, and the resort states that a last minute backup space cannot be guaranteed.
You want an adults-only hush.This is a family resort with a kids club and a six slide waterpark alongside its adults-only section, so expect an active property around your events.
You want a clear shoreline.Sargassum, the seasonal brown seaweed, lands heaviest on this coast between May and October. A clear shoreline is far likelier from late November through April.

How the light works here

The beach and every oceanfront space here face east, so the water is at its brightest in the morning and the sun tracks back over the gardens through the afternoon. That geography is a gift for a ceremony: by late afternoon the sun has dropped behind the jungle line and the beach falls into open shade, so nobody squints through their vows and the light on skin goes soft well before the official sunset time. The trade is that sunset happens inland behind the palms rather than out over the Caribbean, so the last warm light of the day belongs to the gardens, the plaza and the rooftop rather than the horizon, and a ceremony starting about ninety minutes before sunset leaves enough runway for portraits before twilight closes in fast. The Sunset Rooftop is the one spot that gets you above the tree line.

The best time to start your ceremony

Arch's own rule for this coast is to begin the ceremony about 90 minutes before sunset, which leaves the vows in soft light and still keeps time for portraits. Start times are rounded to the half hour for these coordinates. Tulum, Quintana Roo. UTC-5 all year: the state left daylight saving in 2015. Times are town level, so they run within a couple of minutes of the property.
