Arrival, and where you get ready

- About 25 minutes, roughly 24 km. Downtown Cancun is about 15 minutes from the property.

- 6.4Tell guests
- Ask the resort for its own map pin and forward that. Add that the ceremony is a couple of minutes' walk from the lobby on public sand, so the beach will not be empty.
- 6.5At the airport
- Ignore anyone offering a ride between the arrivals door and the curb, however official they look. Only pre-arranged and federally authorized transport may pick up at the terminal, and the walk-up offers are where the overcharge stories come from. Ride-hailing apps work for the trip back to the airport but are unreliable for arrivals, so do not plan a pickup around one.

How the light works here
The ceremony site is a couple of minutes' walk from the lobby, out on the Playa Caracol sand at the north end of the hotel zone. It is a wide beach with room to breathe, so a family group of fifteen or twenty spreads across the frame without looking packed together. The water in front of the resort is sheltered and calm, which keeps the background clean and makes it easy to work with children in the picture. Plan the ceremony for a few hours before sunset so the light has softened by the time you are standing on the sand and the temperature has dropped by the time the reception starts. After dark the resort itself carries the evening, and the palapa terrace between the pool and the beach, the palm-ringed terrace by the pool and the air-conditioned ballroom all light very differently, so it is worth deciding early which one the reception lives in.
The best time to start your ceremony
Arch's own rule for this coast is to begin the ceremony about 90 minutes before sunset, which leaves the vows in soft light and still keeps time for portraits afterwards. Start times are rounded down to the half hour. Cancun hotel zone, Quintana Roo. UTC-5 all year: the state left daylight saving in 2015. Times are town level, so they run within a couple of minutes of the property.
