Why this venue
What couples choose it for
- The beach is one of the widest stretches in the area, so a ceremony with a big guest list still has room to breathe and your photos are not boxed in by other hotel guests.
- The property is newer than most resorts on this coast, and the contemporary but still tropical design, with clean lines and open space, photographs beautifully.
- There are around eleven distinct wedding spaces, which means a 20 guest terrace dinner and a 350 guest garden reception can both happen well on the same property.
- Three pool levels, a water park and a lazy river for the kids, and a connecting walkway to the adults-only Secrets Playa Mujeres for guests 18 and over.
- It sits about 35 minutes from Cancun International inside a gated community, so guests land and arrive without the long transfer that Riviera Maya venues require.

Ceremony
- Beach Gazebo A white gazebo on a semi-private stretch of sand with open ocean behind it, seating up to 150.
- Beach Bare white sand at the water's edge, cleared of loungers for the day.
- Over the Water A platform set out above the water beside the infinity pool, for up to 80 guests, with sea on three sides.
- Platform in Central Garden A raised ceremony platform in the landscaped central garden, released for 5 pm or 6 pm starts only.
- Presidential Suite Ocean Front terrace A private oceanfront suite terrace for up to 80.
- Paramount Suite terrace An ocean-view suite terrace for an intimate ceremony, with a two-night suite minimum and a limit of two events on the day, so you pick ceremony plus cocktails or cocktails plus dinner.
Reception
- Central Garden The large garden reception space, up to 350 for cocktails and dinner.
- Ballroom Indoor and air conditioned, seating up to 250.
- Azure Veranda A covered, air conditioned veranda for up to 100.
- Beach Dinner on the sand with the water behind you, at the same scale as the beach ceremony.
- Mermaid Terrace A poolside terrace seating roughly 70 to 80 for dinner, and a strong cocktail-hour space once the light drops and the pool starts reflecting.
- Pool Terrace A second poolside terrace for around 70 to 80, released only after 6 pm, which makes it a dinner space rather than a daytime one.
- Cove Terrace The smallest and most secluded option, an oceanfront terrace seating about 40 to 50.
The honest case against
When another venue fits better
Every point below comes from the venue's own published terms and from documented weddings. None of it makes this a bad venue. It makes it the wrong one for some couples, and better to know now.
- You want the party on the sand to run late in summer.Outdoor beach events end at 9 pm from May 1 to November 30 for turtle nesting season. December through April they run to 11 pm.
- You need a number you can hold to.The package is a floor, not a price. One documented February 2025 wedding for 74 guests opened at USD 11,499 and finished at USD 32,356 once add-ons were counted, before photography or travel.
- You are bringing a small guest list and want the Central Garden.It carries a USD 2,000 rental fee and a stay minimum of 100 guests from January to March, 70 from April to December, with a USD 1,000 penalty if you fall short.
- You want one suite terrace to carry the whole evening.The Paramount allows only two events on the day, so it is ceremony plus cocktails or cocktails plus dinner, not both. It also holds you to a two night minimum, and the Presidential Suite to three.
- Your date falls between May and October and the beach look is not negotiable.Sargassum lands heaviest May through October and the rainy season runs June through September. The resort cannot promise you clear sand.

- Central Garden costs $2,000 to rent and has guest-stay minimums of 100+ Jan to Mar, 70+ Apr to Dec, or a $1,000 shortfall penalty.
- Get the outside vendor fee and day pass charge in writing; published figures range $150 to $600 per vendor.
- The Presidential Suite terrace needs a 3 night stay and the Paramount a 2 night stay, and the Paramount allows only two events per day.
- Rainy season runs June through September, and sargassum lands heaviest May through October.
Getting here
Arrival, and where you get ready
- Fly intoCancun International (CUN). It is the only sensible airport for this coast and every international carrier serving the region lands there.
- Then driveAbout 35 minutes north. No ferry and no long highway transfer, which is unusual for this corridor and worth telling guests who have been warned about Riviera Maya drive times.
- Arriving atA gated residential and resort community. Give drivers the resort name rather than the community name at the gate, and send arriving guests the same instruction.
- Tell guestsAsk the resort for its own map pin and forward that, rather than searching the resort name. Several properties on this coast share a name with a sister resort further south.
- At the airportIgnore anyone offering a ride between the arrivals door and the curb, however official they look. Only pre-arranged and federally authorized transport may pick up at the terminal, and the walk-up offers are where the overcharge stories come from. Ride-hailing apps work for the trip back to the airport but are unreliable for arrivals, so do not plan a pickup around one.
- Book the drive before you flyReserve a private transfer in advance: the driver meets you with a name sign, at a fixed price agreed up front, and tracks your flight if it runs late. Send these verbatim. Each one is either unpublished, negotiable, or changes with your date.
- Can we get the outside vendor fee and day pass charge for our date in writing?
- Which curfew applies to our date, the 9pm turtle season cutoff or the 11pm one?
- What is the Central Garden guest minimum for our month, and the shortfall penalty at our count?
- Can we get a full quote at our real guest count, not just the package headline price?
- Is our ceremony site released for the start time we want, since the garden platform is 5pm or 6pm only?

From behind the camera
How the light works here
The beach here faces east onto the Caribbean, so the sun rises out of the water and sets behind the property rather than over the sea. In practice that is a gift. By late afternoon the buildings and tree line throw the sand into open shade, so nobody squints through the vows and skin tones stay soft and even, while the sky over the water turns a pastel gradient of pink and blue. The trade is that you rarely get the sun dropping into the ocean behind you, and once it falls below the tree line the light goes quickly, so couple portraits have to be efficient. The blue hour that follows is worth staying out for, because the shallow turquoise water still glows and the white sand bounces light back onto faces.
The best time to start your ceremony
Arch's own rule for this coast is to begin the ceremony about 90 minutes before sunset, which leaves the vows in soft light and still keeps time for portraits. Start times are rounded to the half hour for these coordinates. Playa Mujeres, Quintana Roo. UTC-5 all year: the state left daylight saving in 2015.

- Over the WaterDue east, sea on three sidesThe most exposed ceremony site on the property and the last to fall into shade, because nothing stands between it and the open water.
- Beach GazeboEast, open ocean behindSun behind your guests, couple in open shade once the buildings take the sun. The gazebo roof adds its own shadow, so watch the line it cuts across faces.
- BeachEast, at the water's edgeSame light as the gazebo with nothing overhead, which is the cleanest of the beach options once the shade line arrives.
- Presidential and Paramount Suite terracesEast and ocean view, elevatedHeight buys you time. A terrace above the tree line holds direct sun a little longer than the sand does.
